More than 20 years working as a construction worker far from home, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hau (from Nghe An) currently lives and works near Thang Long Industrial Park, Hanoi.
The years of struggling to earn a living made him even more understand the value of his homeland, his home and the moments of reunion with his family.
On the occasion of National Day September 2 this year, Mr. Hau plans to return to his hometown from August 30, then return to Hanoi on the morning of September 2 to continue work.
For workers who are used to back-and-forth trips like him, holidays are not only a time for rest but also an opportunity to look back at what they cherish.
He shared that love for his homeland and country does not necessarily have to be expressed by great things. It can be a right living ideal, an effort in work every day and the awareness of becoming a good citizen.
No matter what job I do, I must comply with the law, live harmoniously with people and neighbors. In work, I must try to complete my tasks well, constantly learn to improve my skills and knowledge," Mr. Hau expressed.
For him, living in peace is something to be proud of. The years away from home made the man with two children even more cherish every moment gathering with his family. Love for the Fatherland, in his opinion, also grew from gratitude for today's peaceful life.
He wants to convey that feeling to his children with simple lessons. That is to know how to love their homeland through songs and songs; know how to study hard, be polite to adults, live morally and always strive to rise up. Because for him, a young generation who knows how to live decently and responsibly is also part of the love for the country.
Also leaving her hometown of Nghe An to come to Hanoi to work, Ms. Ha Thi Huyen has been attached to Thang Long Industrial Park for more than 4 years.
In the years living far from home, amidst the busy pace of work in the industrial park, the love for the Fatherland in her was still present in very simple moments.
There are times when listening to the National Anthem, I feel very proud and grateful," Ms. Huyen shared.
Without flowery words, for female workers from Nghe An, love for the country is expressed in the way each person lives and works every day.
At the company, she tries to complete the assigned work well. In life, she chooses a frugal lifestyle, avoids wastefulness, and strictly complies with traffic safety regulations and local regulations where she lives.
From those small things, love for the homeland and country quietly grows in the hearts of workers far from home like me" - Ms. Huyen said.
Those simple thoughts are probably also the common feelings of many workers far from home. They leave their villages, bringing their youth to urban areas and industrial parks to work.
Each person has their own job, their own journey, their own worries, but they are all contributing with their working hands to the lives of their families and the overall development of society.
On National Day, amidst the buses returning home or the shifts still continuing, the love of the Fatherland in the hearts of workers is not something far away.
