On August 29, the barrier at the entrance to the Ring Road 1 project section Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc (at the Hoang Cau intersection) was removed, opening a traffic route connecting from Xa Dan - O Cho Dua road to Cau Giay.
Accordingly, people and vehicles can temporarily travel on Ring Road 1 smoothly, reducing congestion compared to traveling on De La Thanh road as before.
According to records, with the section from Hoang Cau to Lang Ha, people can travel in both directions. Similarly, the section from Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital to the end point of the route - Voi Phuc intersection.
The remaining sections from Lang Ha to Nguyen Chi Thanh, from Nguyen Chi Thanh to Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, vehicles can circulate on the left side of the route. On the right side of the route, construction work is being completed.
It is expected that by National Day September 2nd, functional agencies will officially organize traffic diversion at the Ring Road 1 project.
Meanwhile, 2 overpasses on the route at the Lang Ha and Nguyen Chi Thanh intersections are still under construction, expected to be completed before December 31, 2026.
Mr. Bui Cong Minh (34 years old, residing in Cau Giay ward) is excited that people have been able to travel temporarily on Ring Road 1, Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section.
Although not completely completed, the temporary traffic opening has also made people's travel more convenient than before" - Mr. Minh said.
According to Mr. Minh, at the starting point of the route at the Hoang Cau intersection (O Cho Dua direction), a traffic light system has been installed but has not been officially put into operation.
This leads to many drivers being quite confused when reaching the intersection, some drivers hesitating, not daring to go straight through the intersection, but deciding to turn right into Hoang Cau street and then turn around for fear of traffic violations, causing the traffic situation at this intersection to be sometimes chaotic.
Functional agencies need to soon have guidance and regulate traffic in this area to make people's travel more convenient" - Mr. Minh said.
The Ring Road 1 construction project, Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section, is more than 2.2km long, with a cross-section of 50m with 8 lanes.
The starting point intersects with Cat Linh - La Thanh - Yen Lang road at Hoang Cau, the ending point is at Voi Phuc traffic junction.
The project has a total investment of more than 7,200 billion VND from the city budget.
The project was approved in December 2017, expected to be completed in 2020, but was delayed due to site clearance problems.
