Of which, in terms of compulsory social insurance, there are 17.033 million participants nationwide, an increase of 7.25% over the same period in 2023; in terms of voluntary social insurance, there are 1.993 million participants, an increase of 39.35% over the same period in 2023; in terms of unemployment insurance, there are 15.312 million participants, an increase of 8.02% over the same period in 2023; in terms of health insurance, there are 93.455 million participants, an increase of 2.18% over the same period in 2023.
In addition, the whole industry always focuses on ensuring the rights of social insurance and health insurance participants. According to statistics, social insurance expenditures in the first 9 months of 2024 increased by 11.25% compared to the same period in 2023, unemployment insurance expenditures increased by 4.03% and health insurance medical examination and treatment expenditures increased by 14.12% with the number of health insurance medical examinations and treatment increases by 5.34%.
The whole sector has focused on implementing social insurance policies and regimes according to new regulations; strengthening management, preventing abuse and profiteering of social insurance and unemployment insurance funds and managing beneficiaries of the regimes; promptly and properly resolving many official dispatches and petitions from organizations and individuals.
In particular, the Vietnam Social Insurance sector has demonstrated a high sense of responsibility and effort in responding to the consequences of storm No. 3 (Yagi).
Accordingly, closely following the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, proactively implementing emergency response measures before, during and after the storm; implementing many specific support solutions for people and businesses such as flexible, appropriate and timely implementation of time, methods and ways of paying social insurance and health insurance regimes; simplifying administrative procedures, creating favorable conditions for receiving and resolving regimes, ensuring no interruption in the enjoyment of benefits related to social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, etc.
In addition, the entire industry urgently implemented the tasks assigned by the Government in Resolution No. 143/NQ-CP dated September 17, 2024 of the Government on studying the extension of social insurance payment for tourism businesses damaged by storm No. 3. Emphasizing the sharp increase in the number of people participating in social insurance and health insurance from July 2024 to present, Mr. Duong Van Hao, Head of the Vietnam Social Insurance Collection and Card Management Board, pointed out 3 experiences drawn from the success of local social insurance and need to continue to be promoted in the coming time, which are: Closely following the direction of industry leaders, advising the participation of local Party committees and authorities; proactively and effectively coordinating with agencies, units, and collection service organizations; flexibly implementing creative and local-appropriate solutions.
According to General Director of Vietnam Social Security Nguyen The Manh, from now until the end of 2024, the whole industry needs to continue implementing solutions and proposals to support people and businesses after storm No. 3. Requesting local Social Security agencies to strictly comply with the direction of Vietnam Social Security, closely follow and proactively advise local Party committees, authorities and Steering Committees at all levels to effectively perform tasks related to social insurance and health insurance.
