Ms. Vu Thi Linh (from Phu Tho) and her husband have been working as a worker in Thang Long Industrial Park (Hanoi). Despite the time of working for so long, but from the beginning, this female worker had no intention of buying a home in Hanoi.
"My husband and I determined the time away from home as workers just to make money and have capital to do business later. We are not planning to work in Hanoi for a long time," Ms. Vu Thi Linh said.
Another reason is that the couple's income is not high, if going to work for many years is not enough to buy a house in Hanoi, even social houses. "Even when I was determined to buy, my wife and I had to borrow a lot, becoming a long -term burden. Moreover, not everyone can easily buy social housing," the female worker shared.
Two years ago, she and her husband decided to quit their jobs in Hanoi to go home. In her hometown, she applied to work as workers in the industrial park. Although she had to go to work further, but she was able to live next to her family, not far from her children. Her small family lives in the same house as her parents -in -law.
Thanks to the accumulated money after many years of work, plus the loan, she and her husband rebuilt the new house on the existing land. According to Linh, she is satisfied with her choice. In addition, she wants to live in the countryside, not wanting to "squeeze" in Hanoi.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa (worker of Thang Long Industrial Park, Dong Anh District, Hanoi) also has no intention of buying a house in Hanoi.
He and his wife and children are renting in a room of only about 20m2, with the rent of 1.2 million dong/month. Including electricity and water bills, one month he and his wife have to pay about 1.5-1.6 million. There are small children, life in the cramped room is very inconvenient, but with limited income, he cannot move to a new place to rent higher. "Buying a house is even more distant" - Mr. Hoa said.
Mr. Hoa and his wife work with the company, the total income of both is about 20 million VND/month. This is the money earned when the company organizes part -time jobs. If the company has few jobs, this figure drops to 15 million. This amount is only enough for his wife and his wife to support their children, to cover their families, rent costs ...
"I do not dare to think about buying a house in Hanoi with the current income while the house price is rising," Hoa said. He intends to work as a worker in Hanoi for a few years, when there is a sum of money that will return to the hometown to build a house on the land (given by his parents) to stabilize his life. Back home, he and his wife will continue to work as workers, or business, small trading to make a living.
"Right from the steps of going to Hanoi to make a living, I did not intend to buy a house. I only considered the time away from home to make a living, earning money, and then I would go back to my hometown to stabilize my life" - Mr. Hoa said.

The survey of the Labor Newspaper reporter in the boarding houses in Kim Chung commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi showed that more and more workers chose to work in Hanoi, saving to build houses in the countryside later.
The price of houses in Hanoi has increased, making their dreams more and more far away, while in the countryside, only a few hundred million dong, many workers' families were able to own a spacious house on the available land of the family. This choice is not only due to financial factors but also reflecting the need to live close to relatives, avoiding the urban pressure of many workers.
