On June 9, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Pollusion from waste treatment plants threatens the lives of people in Nam Dinh". The article reflects the situation that over the years, people in Nam Giang town and neighboring communes of Nam Truc district (Nam Dinh province) have been continuously "tortured" by the stench and flies from the garbage factory in Nam Giang town.
Many people in the Dong Co area (Nam Giang town) said that the pollution from the above waste treatment plant has been happening for a long time. People have repeatedly reported to the local authorities, but the matter has not been completely resolved.

Not only are people in Nam Giang town affected by the stench from the waste treatment plant, but neighboring communes such as Nghia An (Nam Truc district) also have to suffer similarly.
The waste treatment plant in Nam Giang town belongs to Nam Truc Green Environment Company Limited, which has been in operation since 2015.
After receiving the information reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Cao Xuan Nghi - Chairman of Nam Giang Town People's Committee - said: "As soon as the information was received, the town government requested Nam Truc Green Environment Company Limited to take measures to handle and overcome the situation to minimize pollution and not affect the people".
As of June 23, Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter noted that the area around the waste treatment plant was being surrounded by black nylon and leveled.
According to the representative of Nam Truc Green Environment Company Limited, the company is leveling and sanitizing ditches to make a system to collect water from the garbage flowing down and forcing piles to surround it. Currently, the Nam Giang town waste treatment plant is treating garbage from 5 communes and towns with a volume of about 50 tons/day, about 70 tons/day on Monday in the first days of the week alone.
