Previously, collective labor agreements in enterprises in industrial parks in Bac Ninh province mainly focused on funerals, organizing cultural and sports activities, etc., but now they focus more on issues such as salary increases, income, subsidies, allowances, bonuses, shift meals, paid leave, etc.

More favorable terms for workers

Determining that the effective implementation of negotiation, signing and implementation of collective labor agreements (CLAs) at enterprises is an important solution contributing to taking care of the legitimate rights and interests of workers, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Bac Ninh province always focuses on implementing this work with many positive solutions.

Negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements have been highly effective, with nearly 90% of enterprises with trade unions having a collective labor agreement. Labor relations in industrial zones have thus been basically stable; rights, benefits for employees, and working conditions are increasingly guaranteed.

In enterprises with trade unions, more than 80% of units have meals for employees worth VND 22,000 or more; in many enterprises, employees receive a 13th month salary, holiday bonuses, and Tet bonuses; are provided with occupational accident insurance, housing support (or travel expenses), childcare, seniority allowances, and other welfare benefits.

Through the organization of negotiations and signing of the Collective Labor Agreement, employees at the company enjoy more preferential policies than those prescribed by law such as: The company ensures that employees participate in social insurance, enjoy health insurance and unemployment insurance policies according to the law, average income from 7.5 million VND to 8 million VND/person/month, clean working environment, ensuring labor safety and hygiene conditions, and are supported with meal allowances.

At Hong Hai Science and Technology Group (Que Vo Industrial Park), with their quickness and negotiation skills, union officials skillfully persuaded the enterprise to sign a collective labor agreement with many provisions outside the law that are beneficial to employees, such as: Provisions to support housing expenses for employees of VND 500,000/month; monthly diligence bonus of VND 500,000/month, quarterly diligence bonus of VND 150,000/quarter, shift meal allowance of VND 41,000/day; wages for annual leave are calculated at 400%...

According to the assessment of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks in Bac Ninh province, most of the signed collective labor agreements ensure quality and the trend is increasingly improving. If in the past, the main content was related to welfare such as: funerals, support for difficulties, organizing cultural and sports activities..., now it focuses more on contents such as: Salary increase, income, subsidies, allowances, bonuses, shift meals, paid leave time...

Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Zones of Bac Ninh province, Tran Van Hieu, affirmed that the signing of the Collective Labor Agreement always brings dual benefits to employees and employers, creates harmonious labor relations and demonstrates the responsibility of enterprises.

Mr. Hieu said that the benefits of the collective bargaining agreement depend on the skills and ingenuity of the grassroots union officials in negotiating; knowing how to choose the right time to send a request for negotiation and conduct negotiations; and at the same time, it must highlight the benefits that the enterprise will receive when implementing the contents proposed by the Union.

“In the coming time, the Trade Union of Industrial Zones of the province will continue to focus on training and coaching skills to mobilize and sign collective labor agreements for union officials; coordinate with relevant agencies in inspecting and requiring enterprises to sign and implement collective labor agreements to ensure the rights of employees, creating a close connection between union members, trade union organizations and enterprises so that the trade union is truly an organization of employees, by employees, for employees and accompanies the sustainable development of enterprises” - Mr. Tran Van Hieu said.
