One afternoon at the end of June 2025, in the workshop at Lac Son Plastic Company Limited, Ms. Mai - a plastic press operator - still worked regularly. For her, the important thing is not only to have a stable job, but also the timely attention from the Trade Union organization.
"Last Tet, I received gifts and free bus tickets to my hometown supported by the union. Recently, on the occasion of Workers' Month and Labor Safety and Hygiene Action Month, I was also given gifts by the Provincial Federation of Labor, participated in safety training, and learned more skills in handling machinery incidents. That timely care makes me feel more secure and more attached to my work" - Ms. Mai shared.
According to the report of the Provincial Federation of Labor, as of May 31, 2025, the whole province has more than 69,000 workers, civil servants, and laborers, including over 66,000 union members. The life, employment and income of workers are basically stable, with an average income of nearly 6.85 million VND/person/month.
Behind the numbers are a series of practical actions, creating clear changes in the lives of workers.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, more than 5,000 gifts with a total value of more than 4.3 billion VND were given to workers in difficult circumstances. More than 450 free bus tickets take workers away from home back to reunite with their families. The programs "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng" and "Worker's Month" are also widely organized, spreading the spirit of solidarity and sharing throughout the system.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuan - Vice Chairman in charge of the Hoa Binh Provincial Federation of Labor - said: "The trade union organization clearly identifies its role as a solid support for workers. In addition to material care, we also pay special attention to grasping the thoughts and aspirations, proactively monitoring and proposing solutions to handle unpaid wages and insurance debts, ensuring democracy at the grassroots level. All efforts are aimed at improving the quality of union members' lives".
Along with practical care, trade unions at all levels in the province have proactively coordinated to organize 181 sports festivals, performances, hundreds of propaganda sessions on preventing and combating social evils, tobacco harm, traffic safety, and building a smoke-free working environment. In particular, activities to improve professional skills and qualifications for workers continue to be promoted. In the first 6 months of the year, more than 22,000 union members were trained, fostered and trained.
Social security work also left an impression when the Provincial Federation of Labor supported the construction of 6 Union Shelters for union members in difficult circumstances; allocated 414 million VND in loans to create jobs for union members' households to develop the economy. At the same time, there are a series of programs to support poor students, give savings books to children of deceased workers, contributing to spreading the humanity of the Trade Union organization.
