Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code stipulates the September 2 holiday schedule as follows:
Holidays, Tet
1. Employees are entitled to take a day off and receive full pay during the following holidays and Tet:
a) New Year's Day: 1 day (January 1);
b) Lunar New Year: 5 days;
c) Victory Day: 1 day (April 30);
d) International Labor Day: 1 day 1.5 days);
d) National Day: 2 days (September 2 and 1 day before or after);
e) Hung Vuong's Commemoration Day: 1 day (March 10th of the lunar calendar).
2. Foreign workers working in Vietnam, in addition to the holidays prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article, are also entitled to an additional day off for the traditional New Year and a day off for their country's National Day.
3. Every year, based on actual conditions, the Prime Minister decides specifically on the day off specified in Point b and Point d, Clause 1 of this Article.
According to Official Dispatch 8726/VPCP-KGVX in 2024, the Prime Minister has agreed on Lunar New Year, National Day and some other holidays and Tet in 2025 to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
According to Notice 6150/TB-BLDTBXH in 2024 regulating the implementation of the Prime Minister's direction in Official Dispatch 8726/VPCP-KGVX in 2024 of the Government Office on Lunar New Year and some holidays in 2025, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs announces that administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations, enterprises and other employers will implement the National Day holiday schedule on September 2, 2025 as follows:
- Civil servants and public employees will have a holiday for the 2025 National Day from Saturday, August 30, 2025 to Tuesday, September 2, 2025. This holiday includes 2 National Day holidays and 2 weekly days off.
For employees not specified in Clause 1 of this Notice, employers decide to choose the 2025 National Day holiday option as follows: Tuesday, September 2, 2025 and choose 1 of 2 days: Monday, September 1, 2025 or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Thus, employees working outside of state agencies will have 2 days off for National Day, September 2 and 1 day before or after.
According to the 2025 schedule, September 2 this year will be the National Day holiday on the third.
Thus, if the weekly holiday of employees is a Sunday and combined with 2 National Day holidays on September 2 (September 1 (Monday), September 2 (Wednesday), employees will have 3 consecutive days off.
