Hanoi Irrigation Development Investment One Member Co., Ltd. is responsible for managing, exploiting and operating the irrigation system serving agricultural production, people's livelihood and society in 5 districts including: Dong Anh, Me Linh, Gia Lam, Soc Son, Long Bien and some neighboring communes, wards and towns in the provinces of Bac Ninh, Vinh Phuc and Hung Yen.
In addition, the company also supplies raw water to the Bac Thang Long - Van Tri Clean Water Plant under Hanoi Clean Water Company Limited with the largest water supply capacity of up to 165,000m3/day and night; drains water for industry, urban areas, people and other economic sectors...
During their work, Ms. Le Thi Hang and her colleagues at the company realized the many risks of irrigation works that often have to be operated manually, due to being far from residential areas, without grid electricity or power outages due to storms. Therefore, from November 2023, Ms. Hang and her colleagues researched and tested the use of Google Maps software application in the management and exploitation of irrigation systems. The initial wish of her and her colleagues was to locate the exact coordinates of the locations of pumping stations and irrigation works managed by the company, and synthesize the technical parameters of the works.
After 3 months of research, testing, and measurement, the research project was put into operation in January 2024. After completing the technical parameters of the projects on the system, the map link will be sent to all staff and workers of the company for use.
With this initiative, company leaders, employees and customers can easily determine the coordinates of each irrigation project, capture the most typical images and summarize the technical parameters of the project right on their computers or personal phones without having to go to the site.
Applying technology to the operation of the irrigation system at Hanoi Irrigation Development Investment One Member Co., Ltd. has initially brought high efficiency in water regulation, contributing to the efficient use of water resources, timely drainage, saving electricity consumption at pumping stations, promoting the industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas. Notably, this initiative is a testament to the implementation of the digital transformation program by union members and workers themselves and bringing about efficiency.

The initiative is really useful in helping officers and employees to handle situations, prevent natural disasters, promptly, and make quick decisions on handling projects when unexpected situations occur.
In the coming time, businesses will continue to apply Google Maps to build digital maps for management work, labor division; construction operation management, encroachment violation management... to more effectively implement digital transformation.
