According to Ms. Thuc, it is expected that in the last 6 months of 2026, the labor market in Ho Chi Minh City will continue to maintain stable recruitment demand, associated with production, trade, service, logistics, sales and business operations. Labor demand will still focus on job groups that can absorb a lot of labor, requiring quick job participation and good adaptation to actual working conditions.
Regarding qualifications and skills, recruitment needs continue to focus on the positions of practical technical workers and workers who are capable of directly meeting the job. Practical skills, working style, ability to comply with procedures, adapt to the working environment and practical experience will continue to be important factors. For the group of workers with university degrees, administration - office; marketing - communication and some specialized groups, it is necessary to focus on application skills, communication skills, job processing, technology use and ability to adapt to job requirements" - Ms. Thuc said.
In the first 6 months of 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center received nearly 102,400 people submitting applications for unemployment benefits, an increase of 732 applications (0.72%) compared to the same period in 2025, which was more than 101,660 applications. The number of people with decisions to receive unemployment benefits is 86,168 people. At the same time, the Center received 355,245 turns of people coming to announce their job search status.
