The program "Spring of Oil and Gas Love - Warm and Sharing Tet" in 2025 has just taken place in Hau Giang province, jointly organized by the Oil and Gas Power Generation Branch (PVPGB) and the Power Project Management Board (PVPMB).
Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Manh Kha - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuong - Director of PVPMB - informed that in 2024, the staff and employees of PVPGB, Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant and PVPMB have continuously strived and made efforts. Regarding investment, PVPMB has completed the approval of the FS of O Mon 4 Thermal Power Plant, approved and issued the EPC Bidding Documents, and is expected to sign and start construction of O Mon 4 Thermal Power Plant in the third quarter of 2025, putting it into operation in 2028.
The unit has also submitted the FS of O Mon 3 Thermal Power Plant and specialized reports to competent authorities; aiming to approve the FS of O Mon 3 Thermal Power Plant in 2025, start the project in 2026, and put the plant into operation in 2029.
In particular, the unit has started construction of the Housing Project for employees operating the Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant; putting the project into use before the Lunar New Year 2026.
Regarding the production and business activities of the power generation branch, Song Hau 1 Thermal Power Plant has set a record, completing the 2024 electricity output plan assigned by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group of 5.579 billion kWh 2 months ahead of schedule (from October 28, 2024), exceeding the electricity output plan by 22% and exceeding the revenue plan by 24% for the whole year of 2024, thereby contributing 7.5% of the total annual budget revenue for Hau Giang province.
Speaking at the program, Permanent Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Duong Tan Hien acknowledged, commended and congratulated the unit's achievements in the past year.
According to Mr. Duong Tan Hien, in the past time, PVPMB and PVPGB have accompanied the socio-economic development of Can Tho city and Hau Giang province, making many important contributions in ensuring power sources for production and business, people's daily life; implementing key projects in the energy sector; creating jobs for workers; supporting social security work in Can Tho and Hau Giang.
At the program, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union awarded scholarships and funds to the Spring of Love program of Can Tho City.
During his recent working trip to Soc Trang, the Chairman of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group also presented 1 billion VND to each province of Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Hau Giang and Can Tho City, together with local authorities to effectively implement social security work.
