According to the latest data from the Telecommunications Authority (Ministry of Science and Technology), the work of reviewing and confirming mobile subscriber status nationwide has recorded remarkable results after a period of implementation.
To date, more than 93 million phone numbers have been authenticated by users. In addition, more than 2 million numbers have been authenticated as no longer being used by the subscriber's own owner.
However, there are still about 18 million numbers that have not been confirmed for usage status. According to regulations, these subscribers will be locked from calling and texting on June 15 to request users to confirm their status.
According to the Telecommunications Authority, one-way locking is to ensure that subscriber data is standardized, and at the same time contribute to preventing the situation of non-genuine SIMs, pre-activated SIMs and acts of taking advantage of mobile subscribers to serve illegal activities.

Notably, among about 18 million numbers that have not been confirmed, about 10 million numbers have a high probability of no longer needing to be used or not excluding the possibility of pre-activated SIMs.
According to the roadmap, subscribers who have not confirmed their status after being locked from calling and texting can still carry out confirmation procedures to restore services.
Network operators recommend that people should proactively check their subscriber information on the VNeID application or through official channels of telecommunications businesses. In case of receiving notifications from network operators, users should make confirmations early to avoid communication interruptions.
Reviewing and standardizing subscriber data is considered one of the important steps to clean up the telecommunications ecosystem, limit junk SIMs and strengthen user protection in the digital environment.
