On June 27, the Ministry of Justice announced that it had just issued Decision No. 1894/QD-BTP promulgating a List of major problems in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation of the Ministry of Justice.
Accordingly, the Department of Information Technology will chair 2 problems: Building a large database on laws (expected implementation period: 2026-2030); Applying artificial intelligence in the work of building, inspecting and reviewing legal documents (2026-2030).
The Department of Document Inspection and Administrative Violation Handling will chair the problem "Upgrading the National Database of Laws to ensure "correctness, sufficientness, cleanliness, and survival" and developing digital technology applications to effectively exploit data" (2025-2027).
The Department of Dissemination, Education and Legal Assistance will chair the following 3 problems: Building a National Legal Portal - accompanying people and businesses to enter a new era (2025 - 2026); Building a shared digital data warehouse for dissemination and legal education (2025 - 2027); Developing digital technology applications, synchronous digital transformation in dissemination and legal education, corporate legal support, grassroots mediation and legal aid (2025 - 2027).
In particular, the problem of "Developing AI applications in performing state management functions and tasks of the Ministry and the Judiciary" will be co-chaired by the Department of Information Technology and units under the Ministry (2026 - 2030).
The Minister of Justice assigned the Department of Information Technology to preside over and coordinate with the Institute of Strategy and Legal Science and relevant units under the Ministry to organize the implementation of this Decision; regularly review and propose additional major problems on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation of the Ministry of Justice (if any).
