Vietnam Airlines said that on June 27, 2025, at Noi Bai International Airport, a collision occurred between two aircraft while traveling in the taxiway area.
Accordingly, the plane with the number VN-A863, making flight VN7205 from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, while rolling out onto the runway to prepare for takeoff, crashed into the rear of the plane with the number VN-A338, which was waiting to make flight VN1804 from Hanoi to Dien Bien.
A representative of Noi Bai airport said that the two aircraft recorded damage to the collision part, and some debris was collected at the scene. The weather at the time of the incident was favorable, with good visibility.
All 386 passengers on the two flights were taken back to Terminal T1. Vietnam Airlines is urgently arranging replacement aircraft for passengers to continue their journey.
Immediately after the incident, Noi Bai International Airport coordinated with functional units to inspect the scene, towing the two aircraft to a safe parking location, clearing and sanitizing the S and S3 taxiway areas. Air traffic operations at the airport are still taking place normally.
The cause of the incident is currently being further clarified by the authorities.
The minutes of the incident were completed by the authorities at 4:30 p.m. the same day to report to all levels in accordance with regulations.
The authorities are coordinating with relevant parties to conduct an assessment and verify the cause of the incident according to regulations.
