On June 25, at the 9th Session, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh presented a proposal to establish a National Election Council. After that, the National Assembly discussed and highly agreed with the content of the submission of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the proposal to establish a National Election Council.
The National Assembly listened to Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung present the draft Resolutions of the National Assembly to elect the Chairman of the National Election Council.
The National Assembly voted to pass the Resolution of the National Assembly to elect Mr. Tran Thanh Man - Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly by electronic vote.
As a result, 435 delegates participated in the vote; of which 435 delegates approved (equal to 100% of the total number of National Assembly delegates present).
Next, the National Assembly listened to Chairman of the National Election Council Tran Thanh Man present a Report on the proposal for the National Assembly to approve the list of Vice Chairmen and members of the National Election Council.
After that, the National Assembly discussed in the Delegation the proposal to approve the list of Vice Chairmen and members of the National Election Council.
Previously, the National Assembly voted to pass a resolution to establish a National Election Council. The Council has 19 members.
The Vice Chairmen of the National Election Council include: The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly is the Standing Vice Chairman and Head of the Personnel Subcommittee; Deputy Prime Minister; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Vice President.
The members include: Head of the Central Organizing Committee; Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee; Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Minister of National Defense; Minister of Public Security; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and Head of the Subcommittee on Legal Documents and Complaints and denunciations settlement; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and Head of the Information and Propaganda Subcommittee; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and Head of the Subcommittee on ensuring security, order and social safety.
Minister of Home Affairs; Chairman of the Delegation Work Committee; Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office and Chief of the Office of the National Election Council; Chairman of the Ethnic Council; Chairman of the Vietnam Women's Union; First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is also a member of the National Election Council.
