On the afternoon of July 9, Quang Trung Software Park (QTSC) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association (HCA) and the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Support and Consulting Center (DXCenter) organized a workshop on "AI and Cyber Security - Challenges and Opportunities in Digital Transformation".
Opening the event, Mr. Tran Huu Dung - QTSC Director, Vice President of HCA emphasized the explosion and importance of information technology enterprises in the current digital transformation period.
According to statistics, in 2024, Vietnam will have nearly 74,000 digital technology enterprises, an increase of more than 10.1% compared to 2023, with more than 1.26 million workers in the information technology and communications sector.
Total revenue of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises in 2024 will reach nearly 158 billion USD, an increase of 10.2% over the previous year, contributing a lot to the national GDP.
AI is directly associated with digital technology enterprises, strongly applied in most fields - from manufacturing, finance, healthcare to energy and public administration. But that comes with challenges, security, and information security.
Statistics from the Vietnam National Cyber Security Association show that in 2024, there were more than 659,000 cyber attacks targeting Vietnamese enterprises; more than 46% of agencies and enterprises were attacked by cyber attacks...

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Head of the Cyber Security Center, QTSC, emphasized that AI- embedded cyber attacks are a worrying current situation. He cited data showing that 93% of businesses in the world predict to face daily AI- embedded attacks. In the second half of 2024, audio fraud attacks increased by 442% compared to the previous period.
Like the world, Vietnamese enterprises will face a main threat trend in 2025. Accordingly, Deepfake continues to develop rapidly, cybercriminals only need 45 minutes to create fraud images; fraudulent content is increasingly personalized, traditional methods are difficult to detect; AI also automates malware attacks, adapts to avoid cybersecurity systems...
In that context, finding solutions to make the most of the benefits that AI brings in digital transformation, while ensuring information security is something that many units are interested in.
Digital transformation cannot be separated from security and operational optimization factors. The application of AI not only helps businesses process data more intelligently, but also proactively respond to increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity threats.
Through today's workshop, we hope to contribute to connecting experts, technology units and the business community to jointly create a safe, effective and sustainable digital ecosystem," Mr. Tran Huu Dung shared.
At the workshop, more than 100 technology experts, leaders of agencies, departments and businesses, units applying information technology and representatives of organizations operating in the field of information security introduced many valuable solutions and opinions.
For example, QTSC introduces the AI SOC model - a new generation of cybersecurity monitoring system, applying multi-layered AI, automating the detection - response - analysis process of incidents. Lac Viet Informatics Joint Stock Company shares the Financial AI Agent solution, a virtual assistant applying AI in the financial sector. This solution helps automate data analysis and supports quick and accurate decision making...
