Amazon launches new AI feature on kindle application

Amazon launches an AI feature called Ask this Book on kindle, helping readers quickly look up content.

Amazon officially brings the Ask this Book artificial intelligence feature to the kindle app for iOS, allowing readers to quickly ask about characters and details during the reading process.

If you're reading a novel and forgetting who a character is, Amazon says the new kindle feature could help readers recall it without leaving the device.

This feature is called Ask this Book, announced by Amazon at its hardware event in September and has now been officially rolled out to US users on the kindle app for iOS.

According to Amazon, Ask this Book is currently available in thousands of English-language kindle books and only provides information corresponding to the correct position that the reader is reading, to avoid revealing the content behind it.

Users can black out any section of the book they have purchased or borrowed, then ask questions about the plot, character or other important details. The AI assistant will answer immediately, stick to context and not reveal details, while allowing readers to ask additional questions to better understand.

Amazon said it will continue to expand the feature to kindle devices and kindle apps on the Android operating system next year.
