In the new updates, analyst Mark Gurman said that the MacBook Pro models are redesigned, equipped with touch OLED screens, "likely to be launched by the end of 2026". This means that the MacBook Pro line can be upgraded twice a year.
Apple is expected to soon launch the MacBook Pro using the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. Then, possibly at the end of 2026, the company will introduce the MacBook Pro overhaul version with many major changes: touch OLED screen, Dynamic Island, M6 Pro and M6 Max chips, thinner design and integrated mobile connectivity.
For other phone lines, MacBook Air is expected to switch to the M5 chip, while Mac Studio may receive higher-end versions of the M5, including M5 Max and M5 Ultra.
In addition, Apple is said to be developing a new generation Studio Display, with mini-LED backlights, supporting ProMotion 120Hz, HDR and using A19 or A19 Pro chips.
In the long-term vision, Apple's continuous hardware upgrades show that the company is preparing a major shift for the Mac ecosystem, especially the MacBook Pro line serving professional users.
If this roadmap becomes a reality, the high-end laptop market will witness fiercer competition, as Apple both maintains regular chip updates and is ready to launch "transformation" changes in design and experience.
