On the morning of January 26, a large number of parents came to Luong The Vinh Elementary School (Ben Cat ward, Ho Chi Minh City) to request the school to explain the related matters regarding the discovery of color-changing pork brought into the school. Parents requested clarification of the inspection and handling process, explained why they did not report to the management agency to resolve when detecting suspected unsafe food; requested the school to provide a record of handling the incident.

The working session was attended by leaders of the Ward People's Committee, specialized units, police, the School Board of Directors and parents with children studying in semi-boarding.

At the meeting, a representative of the Board of Directors of Luong The Vinh Elementary School said that at 5 am on January 15, when checking the food transferred from the truck to prepare to be brought into the kitchen processing area, the teacher - a member of the supervision team - discovered that the frozen pork ribs showed signs of changing color. The incident was immediately reported to the school leaders.

The school leaders, after actual inspection, found that the ribs were not guaranteed, so they proceeded to make a record, with the signatures of the parties and returned all the ribs at that time.

The Board of Directors of Luong The Vinh Elementary School affirmed that it has followed the correct procedures. After that, the supplier handed over the new ribs to ensure quality.

Representatives of the School Board of Directors said that at the time of inspection, food was found not to be guaranteed, in addition to making a record at the scene, the school reported the incident to the leaders of the Ward People's Committee. The school also requested the supplier to clearly explain the reason for putting in food that did not meet the requirements, and at the same time must commit not to let the incident happen again.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on January 25, there was a stir online about the color change of pork preparing to be smuggled into the kitchen of Luong The Vinh Elementary School, Ben Cat ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Some parents reflected that during a surprise inspection of food brought into the kitchen, the team discovered 90 kg of frozen pork ribs suspected of being of poor quality. In which, some portions of pork had turned yellow and green. The above incident caused concern for parents about food safety and hygiene issues.

Leaders of Ben Cat Ward People's Committee said that the case has been resolved, and all issues are under control. When food color changes were detected, the inspection team immediately worked with the supplier, and then returned all the food right at the time of receipt.

Currently, Ben Cat Ward People's Committee has directed schools in the area to closely monitor the source of food brought into schools, ensure food safety for students and strictly handle violations.
