According to analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is considering choosing a new main color for upcoming iPhone Pro models. Although the iPhone 18 line has not been announced and is expected to be launched later this year, red is currently being tested as a premium option for the next generation iPhone Pro.
Previously, rumors of purple and brown versions appeared. However, Mark Gurman said that these may just be different shade variations of the dominant red color. If approved, this will be a bold step, because Apple has been loyal to the neutral color palette for many years.
However, this is not the first time Apple has launched a red iPhone. The company has partnered with Product Red to produce dark red iPhone models, most recently iPhone SE, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
In the opposite direction, Mark Gurman said Apple will be more cautious with the rumored folding screen iPhone model, likely only keeping basic colors instead of testing striking colors.
