OpenAI has just announced the integration of ChatGPT into Microsoft PowerPoint, marking a new expansion of the company in the field of AI application office tools.
With this feature, users can ask ChatGPT to create new slides, edit content, or update existing presentations using only natural language commands.
In addition to directly entering requests, ChatGPT can also exploit data from connected services such as Gmail, Outlook or SharePoint to build content for presentations.
The PowerPoint feature is currently released as a beta, but has been opened to the majority of OpenAI users, including free accounts and business customers using the ChatGPT Business package.
This move helps OpenAI narrow the gap with competitors in the office AI race. Previously, Anthropic brought projection support to Claude from September last year, while Google also deeply integrated Gemini with the Google Slides platform.
Bringing ChatGPT to PowerPoint is also considered a reasonable step when OpenAI is expanding the AI ecosystem for businesses. Previously, ChatGPT appeared in many popular work tools such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
In the context of the increasingly heated AI competition, major technology companies are promoting the integration of chatbots into productivity tools to retain users and expand business service market share.
