Europe is not allowed to use the most powerful smartphones

Having to meet strict standards could keep many powerful smartphones out of Europe.

“The latest generation of chipsets is boosting the performance of smartphones due out later this year. However, most of them are made by Chinese companies and may never reach the European market,” AFP commented in an article on December 9.

According to the popular performance measurement app and service AnTuTu, the Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro is now the world's most powerful smartphone with a new record average score of 2,932,124.

The remaining spots on the podium are occupied by the Vivo X200 Pro and the Oppo Find X8 Pro. The top 10 consists entirely of Chinese devices, with additional smartphones from other brands such as iQoo, Honor, and Xiaomi.

What all these smartphones have in common is that they are equipped with the latest chipsets from Qualcomm (Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition) and MediaTek (Dimensity 9400). That is why the most powerful iPhone model - 16 Pro Max is far behind in performance compared to the above smartphones.

Many of the world's most powerful phones may not be available outside of China and some other Asian countries, due to strict safety and environmental standards that sometimes force manufacturers to offer smartphones specifically designed for the European market.

Furthermore, the European market is currently saturated by large companies such as Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi. AFP commented that under these conditions, it is very difficult to create a breakthrough, especially in the high-end segment of the market in Europe.

AnTuTu is a popular Chinese performance benchmarking app and service that collects a lot of smartphone data, giving users an overview of the processing, graphics, and overall performance of smartphones. To come up with the world's most powerful smartphones, AnTuTu collected data from November 1 to 30, 2024.
