Regarding the reflection that radiation therapy department staff received money, the Director of E Hospital affirmed that he would not cover up or strictly handle any violations.

After the reflection on the fact that patients undergoing cancer treatment at the Radiation Therapy Department - E Hospital were said to have to put money in the radiation appointment book to receive early radiation therapy, E Hospital directed an inspection and verification of the case and coordinated with Hanoi City Police and related units to clarify the responsibilities of related individuals.

According to a report from E Hospital, on September 8, 2026, the hospital received a letter of introduction from a press agency to work regarding information that radiation therapy department medical staff received money from patients for early radiation therapy.

At the working session, the group of reporters announced the contents recorded and provided some clips filmed in August 2026.

According to the hospital's content provided by reporters, some patients when coming for radiation therapy are said to have clipped money into the radiation therapy appointment book and then put the book in the room controlling the accelerator radiation therapy machine. In the clips, there are images of medical staff holding the money that patients put in the radiation therapy appointment book, with each time from 50,000-100,000 VND.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Deputy Director of E Hospital held an emergency meeting with the radiation therapy department to conduct verification and clarification.

The hospital determined that this is serious content, if there are violations, it will violate the regulations of the hospital and the health sector, and directly affect patients as well as the hospital's reputation.

The Board of Directors of E Hospital has requested relevant individuals to make a report on the entire incident, organize a department meeting and report to hospital leaders.

According to E Hospital, there are 5 medical staff assigned to work in the radiation accelerator control room. In the clips provided by the reporter group, 4/5 of the above staff appeared.

According to reports made after the incident was reported, the related staff affirmed that they did not intentionally solicit, cause difficulties or extort patients.

These staff said they did not know that the patient was putting money in the radiotherapy book. At the same time, they confirmed that there were some cases of receiving thank-you gifts from patients after completing radiation therapy.

E Hospital said that the entire minutes of the radiation therapy department meeting along with reports and commitments of individuals in the department have been reported to hospital leaders.

Regarding management work, E Hospital said that the leaders of the Radiation Therapy Department regularly remind employees about the performance of their responsibilities, tasks, and communication and behavior with patients in department meetings.

After the press reflection, E Hospital said it will continue to direct functional departments to verify and clarify the case, focusing on determining the responsibility of each related individual.

The hospital also coordinated and worked with the Internal Political Security Department - Hanoi City Police, the People's Inspection Board and related units to clarify the reflected contents.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Dr. Nguyen Cong Huu, Director of E Hospital affirmed: Based on the verification results and conclusions of competent authorities, if individuals are found to have committed violations, the hospital will strictly apply sanctions, disciplinary actions and penalty measures in accordance with regulations and authority.

Also according to Dr. Nguyen Cong Huu, press reflections are an important source of information to help the hospital review and clarify issues with signs of existence and promptly rectify patient service work.

E Hospital affirms that it will strengthen inspection, supervision and implement measures to prevent and combat negativity, towards building a transparent, fair and safe medical examination and treatment environment.

The case is currently being further verified. E Hospital has not yet issued a final conclusion on the responsibility of the related individuals.
