The WhatsApp instant messaging app, owned by Meta, has just announced a major update with 6 new features for both iOS and Android.
These additions promise to improve the communication experience, from sharing photos, documents to group chats.
1. Sharing dynamics and live photos
One of the most notable upgrades is the ability to share Live Photos (iOS) and Motion Photos ( Android) live on WhatsApp.
These photos will be converted into GIF with short audio or video, allowing users to convey more vivid moments without the need for external apps.
2. Chat interface supports Meta AI
Facebook has integrated Meta AI into the chat interface. Users can customize the group or individual chat interface in their own style, from color, theme to display.
This feature brings a higher personalized experience, making each conversation unique.
3. Video call background using Meta AI
In video calls, users can now create unique wallpaper thanks to Meta AI. From a creative background to a new virtual space, this feature makes calls more lively.
In addition, AI-generated wallpaper can also be used when taking photos or recording videos right in the application.
4. Scanning and editing documents on Android
Android users can finally scan, edit, and send documents directly on Facebook.
This is a useful improvement, reducing dependence on third-party applications, while making document sharing convenient and fast in work and study.
5. Seamless search groups
Facebook has added a member-based search feature. Instead of having to remember the group name exactly, users just need to enter the name of any member, and all common groups will appear. This is especially helpful for those who are in multiple groups at the same time.
6. New sticker set
To increase the ability to express emotions, WhatsApp introduced new labeling packages, including Fearless Bird, School Days and Vacation. This is a tool that helps users express their mood and personality more intuitively when chatting.
These features are now being rolled out gradually to global users. If it does not appear on the device, users can check and update the application to the latest version from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store ( Android).
With this update, WhatsApp continues to affirm its position not only as a messaging application, but also as a comprehensive multimedia communication platform, supporting both work, study and entertainment.
