On September 4, the announcement event of the Vietnam Green Dragon Awards - Viet Nam Rong Xanh Awards took place, with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Heritage enters digital life with new experiences
Speaking at the opening, Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Lan - Director of the Institute of Innovation and Digital Transformation, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Green Dragon Award, said that the problem posed is not only to preserve existing values, but also to find ways for heritage to continue to be present in contemporary life, becoming a material for creativity, products, brands and new experiences.
According to Ms. Lan, innovation and technology can open up new ways to preserve, recount and bring heritage closer to the public. When appropriately applied, digital transformation can help values that are inherently associated with traditional spaces and forms become more accessible, visual and attractive to today's users.

From that approach, Green Dragon is built not only to award prizes but also to connect entities that are creating new values from culture and technology.
The point that the Organizing Committee aims for is that initiatives, whether large or small in scale, have the opportunity to be recognized, connected and spread if they create practical value for the community.
Not stopping at technology, must create new products
Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Huu Hanh - Deputy Director of the National Digital Transformation Department (Ministry of Science and Technology) highly appreciated the role of the award in connecting technology, innovation with culture, heritage and destination development.
According to the orientation stated at the event, recognized initiatives should not just stop at a new idea or technology product, but need to bring practical value, create new products and experiences for people, tourists and the community.

Accordingly, technology is only truly meaningful when put into practice, solving specific problems and creating visible impacts.
Regarding the award structure, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Giang - Co-founder, CEO of Vietnam Brand Purpose informed that the Vietnam Green Dragon Award includes 6 key groups: Heritage Green Dragon; Destination Brand Green Dragon; Cultural Industry Green Dragon; Innovation Green Dragon; STEAM Green Dragon and Impact Green Dragon - the highest category.
Notably, Green Dragon Innovation has component prizes directly related to technology such as AI for Culture and Tourism, Startup Innovation, Excellent Digital Platform and Young Innovator.
According to the Organizing Committee, the Vietnam Green Dragon series also has forums and thematic seminars on cultural industry development, aiming to promote the transformation of cultural values into creative, economic and soft power in the digital age.
Another message emphasized by the Organizing Committee is that "Green Dragons" do not necessarily have to start from large projects. A small idea, an individual or a community, if connected and spread, can still create a big impact.
From there, the award aims to find initiatives that are present in life, connect subjects and create opportunities for valuable models to be known, shared and replicated.
