Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) has just issued an urgent notice to all customers about the situation of impersonating the website and customer care application (CSKH) EVNSPC to spread malware and appropriate bank accounts. At the same time, it recommends that all customers actively install official applications on CH Play and App Store as a "shield" to protect information security.
According to information from EVNSPC, recently, a fake website appeared on cyberspace at the address evnquocgia(. )com. This website deliberately and sophisticatedly copies the interface, images, logo and trademark profile of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), with fake download buttons/logos of Google Play and App Store to lure users to download malicious application files named "CSKH EVNSPC".
EVN affirmed that this is completely a fake application aimed at spreading malware to automatically steal messages containing OTP authentication code, cover fraudulent interfaces on banking applications to steal login information, and secretly film screens and take remote control of phones to withdraw all money from victims' accounts.
EVNSPC recommends that, in the face of increasingly sophisticated fraud tricks, proactively installing and using the official EVN CSKH application is considered the most effective solution to help people protect themselves. Customers can proactively look up electricity meter readings, meter reading schedules, bill notifications and pay electricity bills directly through secure bank linked gateways. This not only brings outstanding convenience but also helps consumers completely eliminate the risk of falling into the trap of fake debt collection calls or messages containing malicious links.
To ensure absolute safety, EVN, EVNSPC, as well as Power Corporations emphasized: The electricity industry never requires customers to install applications via APK files or send links to download directly via text messages or social networks. The official CSKH application is only available on 2 application stores CH Play (for Android operating system) and App Store (for iOS). Users only need to open the application store, search for the keyword EVN CSKH to download and use.
EVNSPC recommends that in case of suspicion or accidentally installing a fake application, customers should immediately remove the application from the device, contact the bank to notify the temporary lock of the account, and immediately call EVN's CSKH switchboard number 1558 (or via EVNSPC's switchboard number 1900 1006 - 1900 9000) and report to the nearest Police agency for support and timely handling.
