Digital transformation efforts
As a large and long-standing food company in Ho Chi Minh City producing and trading according to a purely agricultural model, Ba Huan Joint Stock Company has created a turning point thanks to the application of a modern and comprehensive digital technology system.
The company is currently applying AI mainly in the field of poultry farm management. This technology supports comprehensive monitoring of poultry health, from early detection of abnormalities to accurate diagnosis of health problems. AI is also deployed in optimizing care processes, ensuring the best development of livestock while minimizing the risk of disease.
AI helps collect and analyze data from a series of datapoints on the farm, such as temperature, humidity, and poultry feeding behavior... to detect health problems at an early stage for timely treatment.
Evaluating the effectiveness of the application, Mr. Doan Ngoc Duy - Director of Strategy, Ba Huan Joint Stock Company said that automatic monitoring systems using AI can replace a large part of manual observation work, while providing more accurate and faster warnings.
"AI significantly reduces manual workload, especially in monitoring and caring for poultry. Saves time and labor in detecting and treating health problems. Reduces veterinary costs thanks to accurate diagnosis and earlier prevention of disease risks. Improves the efficiency of poultry care, ensuring consistent quality without increasing staffing," said Mr. Doan Ngoc Duy.
Mr. Vo Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of Ban Me Gold Company Limited - said: "Applying AI to production, packaging, operations... is something that businesses must definitely do because it helps automate product classification, quality control...".
Future trends are mandatory
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Ly Kim Chi - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association - said that currently, businesses in the industry are actively participating in digital transformation, applying AI to the production and supply chain of products. This helps businesses save on production and logistics costs, and optimize production lines.
“We realize that without digital transformation, businesses will not be able to take advantage of the most advanced technologies today,” said Ms. Ly Kim Chi.
According to Mr. Tran Phu Lu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center, green transformation and digital transformation are almost mandatory requirements to help businesses reach out to markets around the world.
“We have also supported businesses to access demanding markets such as Europe, the United States... products are almost highly appreciated. Businesses have also transformed themselves to access these markets” - Mr. Tran Phu Lu shared.
The food industry in Ho Chi Minh City plays an important role in the city's economic development, accounting for about 20% of the total industrial production value. With the continuous development of the market, the requirement for AI application and transformation to meet increasingly stringent standards is increasing.
