At the end of August 2026, the genuine iPhone market in Vietnam enters a deep price reduction period before Apple usually announces the new generation of devices, in September every year.
Recorded publicly listed prices on August 21 at 6 systems (Mobile World, FPT Shop, CellphoneS, ShopDunk, Hoang Ha Mobile and Apple Store Online Vietnam) show that the price gap between retailers has widened significantly.
On Apple Vietnam's website, iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB version is listed at 37,999,000 VND, 512GB version 44,499,000 VND, 1TB version 50,999,000 VND and the highest 2TB version 63,999,000 VND. This is also the highest price recorded in all versions, because Apple sells at the listed price and does not apply direct discounts.
On the Hoang Ha Mobile website on the same day, iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB is priced at 33,990,000 VND, down from the listed price of 37,990,000 VND announced by this page. The difference compared to Apple's price is 4,009,000 VND, equivalent to nearly 11%. ShopDunk also sells this version at 33,990,000 VND.
3 systems The Gioi Di Dong, FPT Shop and CellphoneS simultaneously offer a price of 34,560,000 VND for iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB, all with information of a reduction from 37,990,000 VND. In the 512GB version, these 3 systems agree on a price of 41,400,000 VND, while Hoang Ha Mobile sells for 40,490,000 VND.
The largest difference in the survey belongs to iPhone Air. On the Hoang Ha Mobile website, the 256GB version of the thinnest iPhone model is priced at 22,890,000 VND, down from 31,990,000 VND; FPT Shop listed 22,990,000 VND also from 31,990,000 VND. Compared to 31,999,000 VND on Apple Store Online, the gap is up to 9,109,000 VND, equivalent to more than 28%.
In the popular group, iPhone 17e 256GB ranges from 17,290,000 VND at ShopDunk and Hoang Ha Mobile to 17,999,000 VND at Apple. iPhone 17 256GB version is the lowest at ShopDunk with 23,790,000 VND, while Apple holds 24.999,000 VND.
Retail systems are running many programs in parallel. The Gioi Di Dong and CellphoneS apply 0% installment payment without surcharges, with a term of up to 6 months. Hoang Ha Mobile announced a subsidy for old and new devices up to 4 million VND, while CellphoneS adds a discount for Smember members and an incentive to buy Apple Watch. Apple applies a program to exchange old devices with a credit score of 4,700,000-17,900,000 VND when exchanging iPhone 13 or higher.
Thus, the difference in low capacity versions of the Pro line such as between iPhone 17 Pro 256GB and iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB in the same system is currently only about 2.5-3 million VND, while the jump from 1TB to 2TB of Pro Max is exactly 13 million VND in both Mobile World, Hoang Ha Mobile and Apple.
For buyers, this time is suitable to consider buying 256GB versions because the reduction is concentrated here. If Apple maintains the annual launch cycle in September, the price reduction room for the iPhone 17 line is likely to continue in the next few weeks. Buyers should compare prices at least in two systems and check the accompanying conditions of the subsidized packages before deciding.
