Harvey has completed the acquisition of Hexus - a 2-year-old business specializing in building tools for creating demos, videos and product tutorials. The deal aims to help Harvey expand its scale and accelerate the service development process for the internal legal departments of the business.
Ms. Sakshi Pratap - founder and CEO of Hexus, who has worked at Walmart, Oracle and Google, said that the team in San Francisco has joined Harvey. Hexus engineers in India will join when Harvey opens an office in Bangalore. Ms. Pratap will be in charge of the engineering team focusing on optimizing and accelerating Harvey's products.
Before being acquired, Hexus had raised $1.6 million from Pear VC, Liquid 2 Ventures and angel investors. The terms of the deal were not announced, but were built in the direction of linking long-term benefits to the staff.
The deal takes place in the context of Harvey consolidating its position as one of the most prominent legal AI startups today. At the end of last year, the company confirmed a valuation of about 8 billion USD after a capital raising round of 160 million USD, raising total mobilized capital in 2025 to 760 million USD. Currently, Harvey has more than 1,000 customers in 60 countries, including most of the leading US law firms.
Harvey was co-founded by Winston Weinberg and Gabe Pereyra, originating from testing GPT-3 for legal questions and seeing the potential to change the entire industry. The company then received its first investment from the OpenAI Startup Fund, which is still one of Harvey's major investors.
