The feature named Me Meme in Google Photos allows users to create personalized memes (photo memes).
Google describes Me Meme as "a simple way to explore the creativity from personal photos and create content ready to share with friends and family". Users can choose from many available meme templates or "download their own funny photos" to use as a replacement.
Currently, this feature has not been activated for all users. Google representatives said that Me Meme will be gradually deployed to Android and iOS users in the next few weeks.
Once activated, users can access Me Meme in the Google Photos application by tapping the Create section in the bottom bar of the screen, then selecting Me Meme. Next, the application will ask to select a meme template and add a reference photo. Users can also recreate the photo if they are not satisfied with the results.
According to Google, Me Meme works most effectively with portrait photos with good, sharp lighting and face-to-face shooting. However, the company also noted: "This feature is still in the testing phase, so the image created may not fully match the original image.
