On January 24, in Long Xuyen ward, An Giang province, My Thoi Fire and Rescue Team (under Chau Thanh area Fire and Rescue Team) coordinated with the Management Board of Social Housing - Tay Dai Hoc Residential Area (under An Giang Construction and Installation Joint Stock Company) to organize a drill on fire fighting and rescue plans at the apartment building.
According to the hypothetical situation, an electrical short circuit caused a fire in an apartment on the 4th floor of the apartment building. The apartment contained many flammable materials such as: fabric, tables, chairs, clothes, electrical appliances,... so the fire quickly broke out strongly, spread and produced a large amount of toxic smoke covering the entire 4th floor of the apartment building, endangering the lives of households living here. At the time of the fire, some people were trapped, causing panic.
As soon as the automatic fire alarm system was activated, the fire and rescue (PCCC) force of the apartment building quickly alerted, cut off electricity in the area, and used on-site fire fighting equipment to extinguish the fire and control the fire. Organized evacuation instructions, moved property out, and called for fire alarms to professional fire fighting forces.
Upon receiving the fire report, My Thoi Fire and Rescue Team immediately mobilized 3 fire trucks; 1 fire truck; 1 command vehicle; 1 fire truck, 1 pump and more than 35 officers and soldiers quickly arrived at the scene to deploy formations, coordinate with the fire fighting force of the apartment building to put out the fire.

One group used water fountains to control the fire and cool down the floors of the apartment building to prevent it from spreading, the other group rescued the victims trapped inside to escape safely. After about 15 minutes of actively coordinating firefighting between forces, the simulated fire was completely extinguished. All victims were successfully rescued.
The drill was successful, ensuring absolute safety, in accordance with the scenario and fire prevention and fighting regulations. The forces performed technical operations proficiently, quickly and accurately. The coordination ability between professional forces and grassroots fire prevention and fighting forces was closely and effectively assessed. The drill also helped grassroots fire prevention and fighting forces and people better grasp basic escape and first aid skills when fire and explosion situations occur.
