HP has just announced a new strategy to promote artificial intelligence (AI) in the business, with the focus being the HP IQ platform, which is a layer of intelligence directly integrated on the device, along with a series of high-performance AI computers.
At the Imagine event held in New York on March 24 local time, HP introduced HP IQ as a middleware layer between the device and the AI system, allowing automation and contextual support in daily work.
Unlike independent AI tools, HP IQ is designed to operate throughout the system, helping users interact with computers in natural language without opening multiple separate applications.
According to HP, this platform is built on a local AI model with 20 billion parameters, prioritizing direct processing on the device to ensure speed, reliability and privacy. Only when necessary and authorized by the business, data is transferred to the cloud.
HP IQ can perform many tasks such as searching files, summarizing content, arranging notes or supporting working processes in meetings.
This approach is considered different from competitors such as Lenovo or Dell, when HP deeply integrates AI into the operating experience instead of providing it as a separate tool.
Notably, HP has taken advantage of the acquisition of Humane (a US technology startup) to strengthen its AI strategy. Humane's co-founder, Mr. Imran Chaudhri, used to be a designer at Apple, currently holding the position of Senior Vice President in Design & Technology at HP's IQ Lab.
HP said HP IQ will be rolled out early from the spring of 2026 and expanded on many devices such as laptops, desktops and collaborative systems by the end of the year.
Along with HP IQ, the company also launched more than 30 new business laptop models, using chips from Intel, AMD and Qualcomm.
These devices are optimized for flexible working environments, with high performance, long battery life and thin and light design.
In which, the EliteBook 6 line is aimed at mobile users, while the Z8 Fury G6i workstation serves heavy tasks such as AI development, simulation and graphics processing. Some models also integrate 5G connectivity to ensure workability anytime, anywhere.
HP also restructured its product portfolio, clearly dividing it by customer groups from small businesses to organizations that need to handle large volumes of work.
In addition to hardware, HP continues to upgrade the Workforce Experience Platform (WXP), which is a cloud-based and AI-based information technology management system.
This platform has the ability to detect incidents early and automatically propose handling plans, helping to reduce the burden on the IT department.
According to HP, the long-term goal is to shift from a response support model to an automatic system that detects and processes problems before affecting users.
