There have been ideas for a tri-fold smartphone, which would allow a device with a large screen to still fold up and be as compact as a regular device.
However, no one has actually brought it to market in recent years.
So far, on social network Weibo, Huawei has officially announced the event on September 10. Although the promotional video does not reveal any details, Huawei has previously confirmed that they will launch the tri-fold device in September.
Leaked images of the device (via GSMArena) show a tri-fold design and a large display when unfolded. According to display analyst Ross Young, the display measures 10 inches when unfolded.
The device may only be available in China for a while before it goes global, and it will still lack Google apps due to the ban in place.
Thus, this September will see a series of outstanding events for the technology community.
Before that is the event scheduled to launch Apple's iPhone 16 series on September 9. In addition, the IFA 2024 technology exhibition (September 6 - 10) is also expected to bring many breakthrough technology products.
