Hung Yen promotes cooperation with the United States in the field of high technology

Hung Yen - Hung Yen province wishes to strengthen cooperation with US partners, promote investment attraction, and develop high technology.

On April 21, Mr. Le Quang Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee received and worked with the working delegation of the US Embassy in Vietnam led by Mr. Pierce Davis - Political Counselor.

At the working session, Mr. Le Quang Hoa expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation, and at the same time provided general information on the socio-economic development situation of the province after the merger, emphasizing the advantages of geographical location, human resources and investment environment.

In 2025, the province's GRDP reached 166 trillion VND, an increase of 8.78% compared to 2024; the scale of the economy reached over 318 trillion VND; the provincial competitiveness index (PCI) maintained in the leading group in the country.

Mr. Le Quang Hoa said that in the context of the strong development of the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the province considers this an important foundation to promote cooperation with US partners, especially in the fields of investment, trade, education - training and high-quality human resource development.

Currently, there are 956 FDI projects in the province with a total registered capital of about 17.5 billion USD, including 13 projects of US investors with a total capital of 46.3 million USD.

The province is implementing the planning for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 (adjusted), aiming to become a modern industrial province, logistics, service and smart city center of the Capital region; focusing on developing high-tech industrial parks, and at the same time proposing to build a free economic zone to attract strategic investors.

The province wishes to continue to receive the attention of US investors and requests the US Embassy in Vietnam to continue to support business connections, promote the investment environment, and promote cooperation in the fields of high technology, innovation, education and human resource development.

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Pierce Davis thanked the provincial leaders for their welcome, and highly appreciated the socio-economic development results and the potential of the locality, especially in attracting investment, developing industry and urban areas. He said that Vietnam-US relations are developing positively, creating a favorable foundation to promote cooperation between localities of the two countries.

The two sides exchanged views on the potential for cooperation in improving the quality of human resources, connecting businesses, sharing experiences in operating two-level local governments, building and implementing provincial planning, as well as cooperation programs in the field of law enforcement.

At the same time, it was agreed to continue to maintain information exchange, strengthen connections and promote practical and effective cooperation activities.

Concluding the working session, Mr. Le Quang Hoa thanked the working delegation for their exchanges and affirmed that the province will study and absorb them to concretize them in the process of direction, administration and development policy development.

The province is committed to continuing to improve the investment environment, improve the quality of human resources, complete synchronous infrastructure, and create favorable conditions for US businesses to come to learn, invest and expand production and business in the locality.
