Hanoi welcomes another high-tech industrial "backing point

Hanoi continues to affirm its attractiveness to high-tech investors when the MITAC (Vietnam) factory complex officially went into operation in the Southern Hanoi Supporting Industrial Park (HANSSIP).

Recently, at HANSSIP (phase 1), MITAC Technology Co., Ltd. (Vietnam) – a member of MITAC International Corporation (Taiwan, China) – held the inauguration ceremony of the high-tech factory complex, marking an important step in the strategy of expanding production in Asia.

The factory complex is built on an area of 80,000m2, with a total initial investment of 66 million USD. The project focuses on manufacturing electronic components, processing and assembling motherboard lines for dashcams, IoT devices, tablets and other high-tech products.

MITAC is one of the largest electronics corporations in Taiwan (China), with a production system spanning many countries such as the US, China, and the UK. This enterprise is a component supplier for many global technology "giants" such as HP, Canon, Intel, IBM.

Choosing Vietnam, especially Hanoi, as a factory location is not a random decision. According to Mr. Billy Ho - General Director of MITAC Group, in the context of global technology corporations restructuring their supply chains, Vietnam is emerging as a strategic destination in Asia.

“We are not only expanding the market, but also aiming to build a production center that combines international technology with local resources. This is an important step in the business's globalization strategy,” Mr. Billy Ho emphasized.

Not stopping at traditional production, MITAC said it will focus on high-tech fields such as cloud computing and artificial intelligence, with the orientation of developing products with high added value, serving both the international market and general consumer needs.

A noteworthy point is that businesses especially value the human factor. MITAC is promoting recruitment and training of technical teams in Vietnam, combining domestic and international training to improve human resource quality.

From the perspective of state management, Mr. Le Thanh Son - Deputy Head of the Hanoi High-Tech Parks and Industrial Parks Authority - said that the city has been and is constantly improving the investment environment, upgrading industrial park infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for domestic and foreign businesses.

We hope MITAC will continue to innovate technology, improve productivity and product quality, and pay attention to environmental protection and the lives of workers," Mr. Son emphasized.

This message also reflects an increasingly clear requirement in attracting investment: not only capital and technology, but also social responsibility and job quality.

From the domestic business side, Mr. Nguyen Hoang - Chairman of Hanoi Supporting Industry Business Association (HANSIBA), Chairman of N&G Vietnam Group - assessed that the MITAC project is an important highlight for the supporting industry ecosystem of the Capital.

After a period of urgent, safe and scheduled construction, the factory has officially gone into operation, opening up opportunities for connecting Vietnamese supporting industry enterprises to participate more deeply in the global supply chain.

This is an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses not only to do processing, but also to gradually participate in higher value stages in the production chain," Mr. Nguyen Hoang said.

Currently, N&G Vietnam Group is promoting investment in the Hanssip IP chain in the North, Central and South to gather and link up to develop supporting industry and new generation industry enterprises with domestic and international partners.

In the context of increasingly fierce competition to attract investment, the fact that high-tech projects such as MITAC choose Hanoi shows the effectiveness of efforts to improve the investment environment, as well as the development potential of Vietnam's supporting industries.

Not only is it a new factory, MITAC is also expected to become a "bridge" for Vietnamese businesses to access technology, international standards and participate more deeply in the global value chain, which the domestic supporting industry is in great need of to break through.
