Photo App
Received feedback from users who tested the Photo app, Apple has made some changes to adjust the design. Specifically, the slider that allows users to browse through different collections has been completely removed, making the app less cluttered and repetitive.
In addition, the Photo app still retains a unified single-screen design, opening up a grid of images where users can view all their photos. With this update, many images in the grid can be viewed simultaneously, and Apple device users, especially iPhone users, can scroll down to access their collections.
On the other hand, if users have many albums, they will see their albums placed higher in the Photo app, and recently saved content is now integrated into the Recently Viewed collection.
Distraction Control in Safari
"The Apple" has added a new feature called Distraction Control for Safari. This feature allows iPhone users to hide distracting elements from a webpage or article, such as login windows, cookie notifications, newsletter banners, and auto-playing videos...
One special note, Distraction Control is not an ad blocker and will not hide dynamic elements like ads. Users can use this feature to temporarily hide them, but ads will reappear when the page is refreshed. This feature is only for static page elements.
Distraction Control can be accessed from Safari's webpage settings. Users tap on settings and then select the option Hide Distracting Items. From there, users can tap on the element on the page they want to hide. On the other hand, users can display any hidden elements by going to settings and tapping on Show Hidden Items.
Home Screen Options
If users press and hold on the home screen and select "Edit" (Edit), they will now have a new option called "Edit Pages" (Edit Pages). With this setting, users can delete all home screen pages or hide them from view.
Dark Mode Icon
"The Technology King" has made changes to some options for Dark Mode. Specifically, Apple has redesigned the Maps icon again and updated the Find My icon. The Maps icon is now black, white, gray, and blue, removing other colors, while Find My now has clearer circles with different shades of green.
Control Center
Apple has changed the design of some icons in Control Center to complete the iOS 18 features.
