Apple announced last September that iPadOS 16 will officially arrive in October. And now, the operating system is expected to launch by the third weekend of the month, according to Apple Insider.
If the prediction is correct, Apple may launch a new operating system on October 18. However, the beta is still expected to launch on October 11. The company also plans to release macOS Ventura along with other operating systems that day.
It is not yet clear why Apple decided to wait until October for iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura. The most likely explanation is that this pair of operating systems will appear along with the launch of new, un immediate, pieces of hardware. The release of the operating system and new devices will prevent others from collecting detailed information about new products through the operating system's features.
Apple has said that the first release of iPadOS 16 will be iPadOS 16.1, to match the iOS 16 version. Apple's improvements to iPadOS 16 include introducing a Stage Manager for some iPad Pro models to handle application windows on multiple screens, along with many other changes to iOS 16.
Apple's beta testing phase is still underway for iPadOS 16. In the fifth beta, Apple has brought back the battery percentage indicator, receiving a lot of attention on social media. That beta also has a music display on the new lock Screen, audio to locate the Apple Watch, changing the screenshot, and changing the Music metrics for Dolby Atmos and Lossless Audio.
