According to analyst Dan Nystedt, the standard iPhone 18 may be equipped with 12GB RAM, equivalent to the memory level that Apple put on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max last September.
If this information is accurate, this will be the first time Apple's standard iPhone model has such a large RAM capacity.
Raising the RAM to 12GB on the standard version is likely related to Apple Intelligence. Apple is expected to introduce more expanded AI features on iOS 27 at the WWDC, expected to take place on June 8. AI tasks running directly on devices often require more memory, so Apple may have to upgrade the standard iPhone configuration to ensure full Apple Intelligence running.
However, the standard iPhone 18 version is said not to be launched with the iPhone 18 Pro this fall. Apple is rumored to postpone the launch date of this model to early 2027, along with the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air second generation.
Meanwhile, iPhone 18 Pro and the long-awaited folding screen iPhone model can still be launched in the familiar time frame in the fall.
