Apple is said to be planning to introduce a folding iPhone model in September, with the goal of overcoming the inherent problems of folding screen smartphones.
Notably, a source leaked on social networks said that this device may be named "iPhone Ultra".
According to analyst Mark Gurman, Apple's folding iPhone will have superior screen quality and overall durability compared to competitors in the same segment. He said Apple engineers believe they have solved the long-standing drawback of this line of devices.
Accordingly, the fold on the screen will be "less visible when opened" compared to many foldable phone models today.
Meanwhile, supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the internal screen of the device is almost "without folds". However, according to Mark Gurman, Apple actually uses technology to significantly reduce folds, but cannot completely eliminate them.
Folded iPhones are said to open like a book, owning a screen of about 7.7 inches, serving video viewing, gaming and split-screen multitasking applications.
The device may also be equipped with a 5.3-inch external screen, two rear cameras, one front camera and use a built-in Touch ID power button instead of Face ID.
