According to the leaked Fixed Focus Digital account on Weibo, Apple will continue to use aluminum alloy design for iPhone 18 Pro instead of returning to the titanium frame like previous generations.
This source said that aluminum material provides good heat dissipation, but at the same time warned that new color options on the iPhone 18 Pro may encounter paint peeling problems similar to the previous generation.
Previously, some iPhone 17 Pro users had reported anodized coating peeling on the frame after a short period of use. Reports show that this phenomenon appears more often on dark blue and orange versions.
Some durability tests also show that the camera cluster area is the most prone to scratches or peeling due to the raised edges.
In addition, some iPhone 17 Pro astronaut orange users have reported the phenomenon of changing the frame color after a period of use. In some cases, Apple has replaced the device for customers.
According to recent rumors, iPhone 18 Pro will have four color options including dark cherry red, light blue, dark gray and silver. Among them, cherry red is considered the new main color of the product line.
However, there is currently no evidence that commercial iPhone 18 Pro models will actually have problems with coating durability. Apple has also not made any comments related to this information.
iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to be launched in September 2026 with Apple's first folding screen iPhone model.
