The latest leaked information shows that Apple may maintain the overall design of the iPhone 18 Pro Max, instead of making major changes as many previous rumors suggested.
According to the technology information leakage account Ice Universe on Weibo, the iPhone 18 Pro Max will be about 8.75 mm thick, equivalent to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This information attracted attention because in March, Ice Universe itself claimed that the new model would be slightly thicker than the previous generation.
Sources say that the reason why the iPhone 18 Pro line does not have many design changes is because Apple is focusing resources on developing a folding screen iPhone model, also rumored to be called "iPhone Ultra".
Previously, another leaked account on Weibo, Instant Digital, once said that the iPhone 18 Pro Max could weigh more than 240 grams and become the heaviest iPhone model since the iPhone 14 Pro Max era.
However, maintaining the same thickness does not mean that the device's weight will not change. Weight can still increase due to internal hardware upgrades.
According to the leaked account Digital Chat Station, iPhone 18 Pro Max may be equipped with a battery capacity of 5,100 to 5,200 mAh, higher than the 5,888 mAh on the eSIM version of iPhone 17 Pro Max.
If this information is accurate, Apple may have adjusted the design of internal components to increase battery capacity without making the device thicker.
In addition to larger batteries, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are also rumored to have smaller Dynamic Island, a new generation C2 modem, a simplified camera control system and a main camera with changed aperture.
