Microsoft deploys co-authoring for files on Android and iOS operating systems.

remote working has become a new normal, leading to the rapid acceleration of many document editing collaboration software. Now, group members from different places can work together as if they were in the same room and keep their data safe and secure.

To facilitate this seamless collaboration between working groups, Microsoft has expanded co-authoring capabilities to files with mat license plates on Android and iOS operating systems.

With this new change, the working culture will become more flexible and employees can switch to multiple devices to collaborate without the need for synchronization and always work effectively throughout the day.

Furthermore, the documents are tightly encrypted with a security label in Microsoft Purview Information Protection. From there, it can be easily opened and edited at the same time by many users.

paras Kapadia - Chief Product Officer of Microsoft 365 apps - wrote: Co-author on documents protected by the Microsoft Purview Information Protection feature, currently available for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office Mobile apps on devices using Android and iOS operating systems.

All changes made to the document when working in co-author mode will be automatically saved and shared with other authors in real time.

So instead of having to forward documents to email and wait for others to edit the file before you can go back, many people can edit word documents at the same time.

To try this feature, users just need to install or update Office Mobile, word, Excel or PowerPoint to version 16.0.14931 or later on Android or version 2.58.207 or later on iOS.

The document administrators only need to activate the 'Co-author for files with sensitivity labels' setting for their collaborators in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal. If it is enabled, the feature will start working automatically for Office apps.
