HP continues to expand the OmniBook laptop line with the OmniBook 3 16 model, a device aimed at general users who need a large screen, long battery life and an accessible price.
Although not possessing the most powerful configuration or the most high-end screen in the segment, this product still impresses with its ability to operate continuously for more than 34 hours with just one charge.
The most outstanding feature of the HP OmniBook 3 16 lies in battery life. In actual tests, this laptop model achieved 34 hours and 5 minutes of continuous video playback, far exceeding the previous record of the HP OmniBook 5 14.
This achievement comes from the combination of a power-saving Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor, a 68Wh battery and an IPS screen that consumes less energy than OLED.
OmniBook 3 16 is sold at a starting price of about 1,000 USD (about 26.4 million VND), comes with Snapdragon X1-26-100 processor, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD and IPS screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels.
Users can upgrade RAM to 32GB or SSD to up to 1TB, but the upgrade cost is relatively high.
In terms of performance, Snapdragon X1-26-100 is a common chip in the Snapdragon X ecosystem for Windows computers. This 8-core processor integrates a 45 TOPS NPU, meets Copilot Plus PC standards and supports local AI tasks.
In multi-core performance tests, the machine gives results equivalent to many competitors using Intel Core Ultra or AMD Ryzen in the same price range.
The 16-inch IPS screen is not the strongest point of the device but still meets the daily work and entertainment needs well. The measurement results show that the screen completely covers the sRGB and P3 color ranges, and also reaches about 92% of the AdobeRGB color range. The maximum brightness of nearly 300 nits is not too outstanding but enough for indoor use.
The design of OmniBook 3 16 has a minimalist style with silver tones as the main color. The lid is made of aluminum while the handrest and bottom surface use high-quality plastic.
A notable detail is the rubber base system that extends almost the entire width of the body. This design not only supports heat dissipation but also helps users hold the device more easily when moving.
With a weight of about 1.7 kg, OmniBook 3 16 is not the lightest 16-inch laptop but still convenient enough for daily carrying.
The keyboard provides a good typing experience with fast response and a solid feeling. Meanwhile, the touchpad is medium in size, using a traditional mechanical pressing mechanism but still operating stably.
The machine is also equipped with an infrared webcam supporting facial recognition login and full popular connection ports such as USB-C, USB-A, HDMI and headphone jack.
However, OmniBook 3 16 still has some limitations. The IPS screen is not really outstanding compared to OLED laptops in the same price range.
The first generation Snapdragon X chip also cannot compete in AI power with the newer Snapdragon X2 platforms.
In general, HP OmniBook 3 16 is a suitable choice for users who need a large-screen laptop for work, study and especially prioritize battery life.
