According to The Verge, Netflix is rolling out a new feature called Access and device Management, allowing users to view devices linked to their accounts.
According to a new announcement from Netflix, users can know more information if they use this feature. For example: devices connected to accounts, the content has been viewed by each profile, and where the viewer views the content. If you want to remove someone from your account, users can click the " xuat nhap" button.
When traveling, going to friends' homes or somewhere, users tend to log their accounts to some devices. Netflix mentioned in the post that this new feature helps users log out of those devices when they don't want others to access them anymore.
This addition could help Netflix get more new paid subscribers from accounts that are free or are freely using the platform. In particular, this new feature also aims to limit account sharing in the context of Netflix facing a large-scale loss of subscribers.
To remove the device from the account, Netflix subscribers can access "account settings" and find the option "Management of access rights and devices", which will display the most recent devices logged into the account and also have information about the device type (Roku Smart TV, Android phone, ...), IP address and exact time when the device has the last access to the subscriber's Netflix account.
After the registered user chose Export on a strange device, Netflix recommended changing the password to enhance security, but this is not mandatory. Later, the account owner will receive a new login notification via email.
Netflix said that this feature is available to all members worldwide. In addition, different platforms such as the web, iOS devices, and Android devices are supported.
The ability to manage Netflix account visitors will be especially useful for those who have signed up for cheaper packages on the platform, such as the Basal and Basal with Ad packages, which only allow one device to watch at a time.
It is known that Netflix has limited sharing passwords in recent months. In a call to investors last month, Netflix outlined how to make a profit from sharing passwords by launching the " Southern Federation" feature in early 2023. This feature charges additional fees for account holders when sharing outside their household and has previously been tested in Chile, Costa Rica and Peru.
The chuyen Profile feature encourages shared users of another registered account to switch to their own account while keeping their data intact, including custom recommendations, viewing history, and trackings.
