That is the content of the workshop held in Ca Mau on the afternoon of December 24.
In Ca Mau, the situation of criminals using high technology to defraud and appropriate property is posing very worrying challenges. As of December 2025, the area has recorded 91 cases with a total estimated damage of up to 105 billion VND. Of which, 77 cases have been prosecuted, 14 cases are being verified; 4 cases have been investigated, and 6 related subjects have been arrested.
Sharing at the Workshop, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Duy Kien - Deputy Head of PA05 Department, Ca Mau Provincial Police - said: Recently, the situation of fake news and fraudulent acts on cyberspace in Ca Mau has become increasingly complicated, with sophisticated, professional tricks, constantly changing. The subjects take advantage of social networks, messaging applications and new technologies such as artificial intelligence to impersonate state agencies, public service enterprises, and banks, thereby luring people to provide personal information, authentication codes or install malicious applications, causing serious property damage and affecting social order and safety.
Practice shows that cybercriminals do not attack technology first, but directly target the subjective psychology, lack of information and people's trust. Therefore, in addition to professional measures, Ca Mau Provincial Police identify raising awareness, skills to identify fake news and fraud for people as the most sustainable "shield" in cyberspace.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Duy Kien recommends that people: Absolutely do not provide personal information, OTP codes, citizen identification cards, biometric data to any individual or organization via phone, social networks; do not access strange links, do not install applications of unknown origin. When detecting suspicious signs, be calm and verify the information and proactively contact the nearest police agency for timely support. Building a safe online environment cannot only rely on the authorities, but requires the cooperation of the entire political system, the press and each citizen, so that each individual can truly become a "backbone" to protect themselves and the community in cyberspace.
Delegates provided a lot of information, how to distinguish fake and real information in cyberspace; using technology to promptly detect and prevent bad and toxic information from cyberspace.
