Orientation to build a healthy cultural environment in cyberspace

On October 30, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to provide information and orient communication in the fields of culture, sports and tourism.

Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh chaired the conference. The conference was attended by Mr. Le Quang Tu Do - Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information; Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Director of the Department of Information and Foreign Information; Ms. Mai Huong Giang - Deputy Director of the Department of Press; representatives of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; and more than 40 companies managing KOLs (MCN), representatives of large digital content pages/bars in cyberspace.

This is the first time the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has organized a conference exclusively for units and individuals working in the field of digital communications, with the goal of enhancing connection, sharing information and orienting content to promote culture, sports and tourism in the social network environment.

Currently, cyberspace has become an important part of social life. Digital content makers, especially KOLs and MCN companies, are increasingly influencing public awareness and behavior, especially young people.

The characteristics of being directly associated with the spiritual life of the cultural, sports and tourism sector require standard, active and in-depth communication. Thereby, spreading the good values of the Vietnamese people, promoting the image of the country, and at the same time fighting against false information.

At the Conference, leaders of the units shared about recent outstanding events, updated major policies and programs to be implemented. At the same time, it aims to build a healthy cultural environment in cyberspace.

Representatives of state management agencies clearly stated the trend of digital content development, management and operation orientation of cross-border platforms; at the same time, they requested MCN, KOLs and creators to closely coordinate to spread official information and build a positive and humane communication ecosystem.

Meanwhile, MCN and creators shared information, raised difficulties in operations and proposed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism open more regular connection channels to update official information, supporting the orientation of content on culture, sports and tourism for the creative community.

Appreciating the contributions to information work, the spirit of cooperation, and the responsibility of participating businesses and units, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism suggested that in the coming time, MCN, KOLs, digital content pages/ portals promote their role as a communication bridge, contributing to spreading good values, building the image of Vietnam as a humane, modern, integrated but still imbued with national identity.

The conference is considered an important first step in strengthening coordination between state management agencies and digital content creators, towards building a healthy, safe and rich cyberspace of Vietnamese cultural identity.
