OpenAI brings ChatGPT's voice mode to CarPlay platform

    OpenAI said it has put ChatGPT's voice chat mode on Apple CarPlay.

    Users only need to update to the latest version of iOS and the ChatGPT application, and own a car supporting CarPlay to be able to experience it.

    To start, users download all the necessary software, connect their iPhone to CarPlay and select "New voice chat" in ChatGPT. When the interface displays the "listening" status, users can start a voice chat.

    However, this feature still has some limitations. ChatGPT cannot control the car's functions. Operations such as adjusting cabin temperature or changing songs still have to go through Siri.

    In addition, due to Apple's restrictions, users cannot activate ChatGPT with a voice command like Siri. To continue the previous conversation, you need to open the ChatGPT application on CarPlay and select the recent or pinned chat.

    Although still limited, OpenAI said that users can take advantage of the feature to ask questions for instructions, brainstorm ideas or practice foreign languages while traveling.
