Samsung launches Galaxy A57 and A37: Expectations and challenges

Samsung launched two smartphone lines Galaxy A57 and A37 on March 25, with Exynos chip upgrades and IP68 standard water resistance.

In which, Samsung Galaxy A57 has a 6.7-inch AMOLED FHD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with Samsung's Exynos 1680 chip, combined with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory.

Regarding photography capabilities, the device may include a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP sub-sensor, along with a 12MP front camera.

The device is also equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with a 45W fast charging, running Android 16 operating system and providing features such as dual stereo speakers and fingerprint sensor in the screen. The device can be offered with color options such as copper, ice blue, gray, light purple and dark blue.

Meanwhile, Galaxy A37 will have a screen similar to A57. The device is equipped with Exynos 1480 chip, Android 16 operating system. In addition, most other specifications are unchanged compared to Galaxy A57. The device may be launched with white, charcoal, gray blue, light purple and dark blue options.

In terms of durability, both smartphones may meet IP68 standards for dust and water resistance. Finally, these smartphones can run on the One UI 8.5 operating system, like Samsung's recently launched Galaxy S26 series.

With prices ranging from 430 to 495 USD for the A57 and from 300 to 440 USD for the A37, Samsung's two new smartphones belong to the mid-range segment. These are two notable additions to the Galaxy A product line, which has helped Samsung affirm its position in many major markets around the world.

However, the two new products also have some limitations. According to Phone Arena, the Galaxy A57 is not too different from its predecessor. Outwardly, it is almost indistinguishable from the Galaxy A56.

This product is also criticized for being expensive for a mid-range device, limited upgraded camera, no wireless charging, no micro SD memory card slot... Meanwhile, the A37 line is criticized for being limited in design and limited storage capacity despite being rated quite highly for performance.

With a price of less than 500 USD, Samsung Galaxy A57 and A37 will have many serious competitors such as Motorola Edge, Poco F8 Ultra, Oppo Reno15F 5G, Xiaomi 15T 5G, Honor 400 5G...
