According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is expected to launch AirPods Pro 3 in the second half of 2025. Many signs suggest that this headphone model may appear at the iPhone 17 event on September 9.
There is no detailed information about the new features yet, but leaks show that the AirPods Pro 3 will likely be equipped with a heart rate measurement sensor - technology that appeared on the Powerbeats Pro 2 earlier this year with a significantly compact charging case.
In addition, AirPods Pro 3 is expected to improve sound quality, increase active noise cancellation and change the design. AirPods Pro 2 was released in September 2022 along with the iPhone 14, then added a USB-C charging case in 2023.
Notably, Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple will not let users wait long for the next generation. The AirPods Pro 4 could be launched in 2026 with a significant hardware upgrade, including at least one micro-ultra-pink camera. This technology promises hand gesture recognition and brings an enhanced space-based sound experience when combined with Vision Pro glasses.
For example, when users watch a video on Vision Pro and turn in one direction, the corresponding sound source will be highlighted, increasing the authenticity.
