Ho Chi Minh City - Singaporean businesses seek partners for microchip design, packaging, chip testing, research, human resource training and semiconductor industry supply chain development

Information was revealed at the "Vietnam - Singapore Semiconductor Industry Cooperation Forum 2026" at Quang Trung Software Park, Ho Chi Minh City on July 21. The event was organized by Quang Trung Software Park Development One Member Limited Company (QTSC) in coordination with the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore.

Mr. Cao Xuan Thang, Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Singapore, emphasized that during the working process, the Vietnamese Trade Office found that many businesses in Singapore are not only interested in expanding business operations in Vietnam, but also want to find capable partners to develop long-term together in fields such as microchip design, chip packaging and testing, research and development (R&D), especially human resource training cooperation and regional and global supply chain development.

Stemming from that desire, the Vietnamese Trade Office in Singapore has closely coordinated with the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA), QTSC and partners to connect, introduce and bring Singaporean business delegations to Vietnam this time.

The most important highlight of the forum is the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation (MOU) between QTSC and the Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA). This is considered a strategic step in connecting Vietnam's semiconductor ecosystem with the leading semiconductor enterprise network in Singapore and the region.

Through this agreement, QTSC and SSIA will coordinate to promote business connection activities, investment promotion, research and development (R&D), technology transfer, human resource development and expand international cooperation in the semiconductor sector. Direct cooperation with SSIA - an organization representing the leading semiconductor ecosystem in the region - will help Vietnamese businesses access international partner networks, industrial development experience and global supply chains.

In addition, the forum also witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation between SSIA, the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Human Resource Development Alliance (SEVINA) and FPT Polytechnic College to strengthen cooperation in training and developing a team of engineers and experts to meet the needs of the semiconductor industry in the coming period.

The forum takes place in the context of Vietnam's strong acceleration in the semiconductor industry, attracting many international semiconductor corporations such as Marvell, Renesas, Infineon, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, Hana Micron and many businesses operating in the fields of microchip design, packaging and chip testing.

According to Research and Markets' "Semiconductors Market in Vietnam 2026–2030" report, the Vietnamese semiconductor market is expected to increase by 2.22 billion USD in the period 2025-2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 7.1%.
